EarlyWork celebrates Yvette Mayorga's debut solo exhibition at moniquemeloche with a super sweet preview. Yvette Mayorga is a multidisciplinary artist based in Chicago, Illinois. Her work links feminized labor and the aesthetics of celebration to colonial art history and racialized oppression through the guise of using pink as a weapon of mass destruction. She fuses confectionary labor with found images to explore the meaning of belonging.
Learn more about Yvette's practice by hearing from the artist herself during this exclusive sneak peek of her exhibition before it opens to the public the following night! After we hear from Yvette, guests will partake in libations and art inspired sweet treats inspired by the artist's practice.
