Join Gertie for an intimate studio visit with emerging artist Tali Halpern, whose richly layered textile works transform slow craft into a deeply personal act of world building.
Working across embroidery, collage, found objects, and text, Halpern explores the complicated intersections of sexuality and spirituality, desire and shame, nightlife and recovery. Their dazzling compositions feel both raw and transcendent, weaving together fragments of queer and punk counterculture with meditative, labor intensive processes rooted in care and devotion.
Through this conversation and behind the scenes look at their practice, guests will gain insight into how Halpern channels lived experience into works that speak candidly to self worth, mental illness, addiction recovery, and the search for connection.
