Join EarlyWork at VSG Contemporary for an intimate evening with Nikko Washington on the occasion of Deferred Reality: Reimagination of the American Dream, a two-person exhibition featuring Nikko and Jacob Rochester. With the artist, we’ll take a closer look at the works on view, plus an exclusive viewing of his soon to be released works on paper. New works on paper by Jacob will also be available to browse. All works are available framed or matted and ready to hang!
New to collecting works on paper? No problem. Allan Weinberger, founder of VSG, will lead a casual, informative talk on the ins and outs of framing works on paper. Come curious, leave confident...and maybe even with a new piece for your collection.
To round out the evening, VSG will host a curated whiskey tasting—Nikko’s spirit of choice. Prefer vino? We’ve got that covered too.
ABOUT NIKKO WASHINGTON
Nikko Washington is a multimedia artist from Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood and a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA, 2016). His work is rooted in portraiture and frequently centers on the artists, activists, and influencers who have shaped his community. A believer in the idea that if people don’t learn from their history, they’ll repeat it, Washington creates work that archives and contextualizes the present moment through the lens of mythology and storytelling.
