This year's dinner provides guests the unique opportunity to dine within Over My Head: Encounters with Conceptual Art in a Flyover City, 1984-2015. The exhibition brings together a selection of artworks by those whose practices were championed by many of Chicago’s influential, now closed, galleries, including Donald Young, Rhona Hoffman, Feature Inc., Robbin Lockett, and Rowley Kennerk. Many of the works in Over My Head cite key moments in these galleries’ histories, a pivotal moment in an artist’s practice, or are illustrative of a long-term relationship between a dealer and an artist. While the works in Over My Head together pay tribute to these galleries’ legacies, they themselves consider ideas of time, place, memory, and the inevitability of forgetting.
