Join us for cocktails and music as we celebrate the opening of Confluence, an Art in Resonance exhibition presented by The Peninsula Chicago with Gertie, curated by Chanelle Lacy and Dara Pizzuti, coinciding with EXPO CHICAGO.
Celebrating 25 years in Chicago, the hotel is transformed into a living gallery of over 30 works by Chicago artists whose diverse voices reflect on the city's artistic history and future. The exhibition brings together artists across generations, including internationally celebrated figures alongside vital mid-career voices and emerging artists. Together, their practices trace a dynamic portrait of a city where experimentation is sustained by community and artistic ambition is grounded in lived experience.
Confluence will be displayed throughout the hotel’s public spaces from early April 2026—coinciding with the city’s premier art fair, EXPO CHICAGO (April 9 to 12)—through the end of May 2026. This installation is the latest iteration of Art in Resonance, The Peninsula’s global contemporary art program dedicated to being an originator of culture through its engagement with artists who push the boundaries of their mediums, in works that engage the senses.
Exhibiting artists include Lindsey Adams, Dawoud Bey, McArthur Binion, Roger Brown, Nick Cave, Dominick Di Meo, Theaster Gates, Erol Scott Harris, Armani Howard, Richard Hunt, Rashid Johnson, Leasho Johnson, Caroline Kent, Judy Ledgerwood, Simone Yvette Leigh, Pope.L, Kerry James Marshall, Yvette Mayorga, Lola Ayisha Ogbara, Ebony G. Patterson, Ed Paschke, Christina Ramberg, Jacqueline Surdell, Evelyn Statsinger, Tony Lewis, Gerald Williams, Amanda Williams, and Karl Wirsum.
