Be the first to see the new exhibition at 400 N. Peoria – Over My Head: Encounters with Conceptual Art in a Flyover City, 1984-2015 and get a tour from the curators
At the heart of the experience is a new exhibition that is being commissioned by Chicago Exhibition Weekend and YOU. Your participation in the Chicago Curated Weekend directly funds the exhibition. As the producer of the weekend, Abby Pucker has invited two young up and coming curators (Iris Colburn, Curatorial Associate at the MCA and Gareth Kaye, independent curator) to put together a landmark show that speaks to Chicago’s influence and importance to the art world.
Over My Head: Encounters with Conceptual Art in a Flyover City, 1984–2015 explores key post-conceptual exhibitions staged by pioneering Chicago dealers such as Rhona Hoffman, Donald Young, Feature Inc., Feigen Inc., and Robbin Lockett. focusing on works that marked pivotal moments in an artist’s practice, reflected enduring dealer-artist relationships, or engage themes of temporality, transmission, and memory.
After our private preview, the show will open to the public—free of charge—for a 3 week run.
